Our Impact
Find Yourself in a Selfless Act
Step One Halfway House provides structured transitional housing for men experiencing financial hardship and life transition. Our housing model is designed to create stability through accountability, community participation, and shared responsibility.
Through our i-Host (In-House Opportunity Team) framework, residents may voluntarily participate in structured community responsibilities within the home and associated properties. i-Host reflects our Work Therapy philosophy — the belief that purposeful activity, structure, and contribution to one’s living environment promote growth and readiness for independence.
Community participation may include property upkeep, organization, maintenance support, or other approved projects that strengthen responsibility and leadership within the home. Participation is structured to promote accountability and personal development within a safe housing environment.
Step One works with residents on individualized participation and fee arrangements based on program guidelines and availability. In certain circumstances, residents may receive program support or assistance designed to help cover personal necessities during periods of financial transition. Such support is part of our housing model and is not employment.
Our focus is to provide men who may arrive without income, belongings, or local support with a structured pathway toward stability, employment, and eventual transition into licensed sober living or independent housing.

Our Strategic Objectives
We are a community resource for the most vulnerable among us — the helpless, the homeless, the forgotten, and those who have fallen through the cracks.
We assist our communities by providing safe, stable housing for veterans, men experiencing homelessness, and individuals committed to living substance-free, including those facing financial or life stability challenges.
Our housing program fills the gap for people who have no place to turn, offering stability, structure, and a chance to rebuild their lives. We provide an environment that reduces financial pressure so residents can focus on employment, education, and personal growth.
